Night bite 9/17

I fished from 10-3. Caught 12-15 with a 20" brown and an18" bow in the mix. Caught fish on black and yellow buggers, also caught one on jtram's beautiful deer hair slider. The quality fish are stacked up in the upper special regs area.

Solid. Fished about that same area this morning with no luck. I wonder if I just suck at fishing, or if the night bite is that much better. Keep us updated on how you do.

I've heard the midge bite in the daylight has been producing decently. 6x fluorocarbon, 3' under an indicator.

Midges changed that river for me. It seemed as though it was depth more than pattern that triggered strikes. If no action in a couple drifts I'd take it a couple inches deeper. The water is way deeper than it looks. You don't suck. I have fished countless hours with nothing to show for it while the guy next to me is hitting every cast. Attention to small details is key and once you find what works it's all worth it

And for sure 6x, I have 7x and they man next to me was using 1lb tippet

Yep. I should've gone 6 or 7x. I always feel like 5 is good enough, but that very well may be my problem. Will hit it again this weekend and let y'all know. Thanks for the help!
