big c Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 Got down this week, shopped for "stuff" for the condo. We got out the last two days from 0700-1630. Caught them good on the Ned, Michelle kicked me on numbers. I threw a spinner bait, rock crawler and jig. The Rock Crawler was an orange color which they inhaled! We caught two limits on the 19th, one small limit today (20th). Information from a friend put us on unique banks which led to our sucess, thanks Champ. Today there wasn't much wind so i threw a PBJ jig on the same banks just deeper and they were there. We caught spots and small mouths. I stuck a large mouth in Cow creek that was skinny but healthy and should have weighed about 4. It was 3.2 and had a craw in its mouth....the color i was throwing. Yesterday the boat was in 20' and today 27-30'. They didn't move far and the bite was a heavy thud on keepers and a machine gun bite on shorts. It was very interestimg how we could determine just as we set the hook. Thanks to all who post here and i will be back in a couple of weeks. Headed back to Des Moines tomorrow....numerous political campaigners to deal with but this slice of heaven keeps me going. Tight lines and stay safe. Champ188 Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 Glad you had a couple of productive days on the water, Chris. You're figuring this lake out fast, which is something that isn't easy to do. Look forward to having you guys back down here in a couple of weeks. Should be a strong fall bite going by then.
Quillback Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 That's some great fishing, thanks for the report.
merc1997 Bo Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 very nice trip! catching makes for a fun day. bo
m&m Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 Thanks for the report. I have to enjoy the success (or lack of success) of the anglers posting on this forum because i have not had an opportunity to get on the water for a couple of weeks. I really appreciate the information that everyone posts. Mike
big c Posted September 22, 2015 Author Posted September 22, 2015 I just follow suggestions and pay attention the weather and water conditions. I have a log of sorts from fishing the rock and other lakes I've been privelaged to fish over the years. I rely on what should work based on my logs. As i get more familiar with table rock i am going to expand the areas i fish. My time over the years has been spent mainly from the dam to the highway 13 bridge. You all are the ones who teach us we just have to pay attention. I learn something each time i go out as the weather and water conditions are constantly changing. Anyway, thanks for all info shared on this site. As i say often, if you see a red/black skeeter zx200 dont be a stranger, I've yet to meet one. magicwormman and Champ188 2
