zarraspook Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 Here is the switch. Well, it has been 20+ years since I wired nav. lights in a boat but, this switch "should" wire as above .. It is just a double pole / double throw switch with internal light that needs a ground to light..... You are much more patience man than me !!!! By now that switch would be in the lake and I would have a new one wired in...... "Look up OPTIMIST in the dictionary - there is a picture of a fishing boat being launched"
fishinwrench Posted September 26, 2015 Posted September 26, 2015 That switch is designed to be wired in a series. Power jumps from one switch to the neighboring switch. Are you checking for 12v behind the switch or assuming it isn't right because the lights aren't coming on ? There are two other trouble areas (per light) downstream of the switch that are USUALLY the issue with Nav/anchor lights.
LoweSTX175 Posted September 26, 2015 Author Posted September 26, 2015 PROBLEM SOLVED..... just in case there is another person who has this issue. Hopefully this saves you the headache I went through. This switch is also the same as you would find in a smaller NITRO. Wire like below. BLACK = Power into the switch RED = Front (NAV red & green) and Anchor (Back white) Lights. Each has a jumper and you might have to swap to get the circuit to fully run. BLUE = Console Also be sure to check the fuse periodically when you are trying to wire the system. In my situation it was a 5 amp that obviously blew at some point. Could have been the issue after I took it apart. I know.... should have checked that all along. Thanks for all the help from everyone on the forum. Hopefully the next guy who has issue finds this post. zarraspook 1
