Justin92297 Posted October 23, 2015 Author Posted October 23, 2015 Awesome! I've been craving some whites lately. Im gonna hit the river early Saturday morning
Justin92297 Posted October 23, 2015 Author Posted October 23, 2015 Smalliebiggs where do you access at rt. 66? It looks like there's access on both sides of the river there
Haris122 Posted October 23, 2015 Posted October 23, 2015 Was the water low enough to be able to travel the bank much smalliebigs? Most times I've been there, I've only been able to fish right by the boat ramp, and just a little further upstream of it.
Smalliebigs Posted October 23, 2015 Posted October 23, 2015 There is a private road which is the outer road on the East side of the river...the exit for Rte 66 park On the east side of the river where the bridge is taken out. There is a rd that goes under the Hwy44 bridge from the park office....I park there and there is a dry creek that feed in right there....with the levels as low as they are right now it's walkable up to the Big Confluence...pretty good fishing. ...topwater and small swim baits will do the trick....there is a weird shad/minnow that has hatched not that long ago and there are millions of them swarming any wood.....if you can match them the fish will eat em up....I was using a custom painted Zip n Ziggy dawg bait....it's a smaller and more subtle bait that worked very good....I caught 9 Whites/Hybrids and 7 Spotted bass in an hour and half....report back after Saturday, I enjoy them. I really like when guys like you get out there and just go for it. It's the only way to learn....I hope my lame info helps
mic Posted October 23, 2015 Posted October 23, 2015 SmallieBigs... I say it again. I hate you... want to be you, but I hate you. Thanks for the post.
