I haven't been out since the big bass bash but there was a good morning bite till around 9 or so and then it is a grind fishing with bottom baits in and around docks and if in the wrong area its a grind all day. I would go to piles that are 3/4 way back in coves that are in the 2 to 10 foot range. I haven't been able to find a top water bite. I hear fishing up the river past hurricane deck bridge is good now.

I got sidetracked chasing white bass this week but before that happened jigs, a buzzbait, and a Redeye shad was doing well for me in 5' or less.

Bites on the jig were strictly on the fall and near the outer ends of docks.  The Redeye bites were right off the shallow rocky banks.  Buzzbait bites were around little pockets along the bank or around any shallow cover.  Ends of seawalls and concrete boat ramps were almost a guarantee.    The thing that all three of those presentations has in common is they are all targeting reflex type bites.  Don't give the fish time to look a bait over good, put them in a position to either hurry up and eat it.....or let it get away.

Depends on where you are and type and time of day. Figure  mid 70's at trolling motor depth.

Me too wrench. I think some part of the problem is stagnation. Seems all the fish on my jigging high spots are very deep around the spots themselves. I think I see more of that when there is stagnantion

Problem ?   I hadn't realized that there was a problem :)

I just want some more color in the water to put them on a wicked buzzbait bite.  :D

Is that an invitation ?    Let's do an afternoon in your area, then an afternoon in mine......then discuss the comparison over a cold beer or two.  Wanna ?
