Champ188 Posted October 26, 2015 Posted October 26, 2015 Donna and I got off to a late start Saturday (9 a.m.) but made up for it by fishing until dark. Spent 6.5 hours of that time in the Kings with just one keeper to show for it. Pretty much threw the tackle store at them ... spinnerbait, topwater, crank bait and jig, and several varieties of each. Caught lots of dinks ... about 30 on the day. Came back down to the Shell Knob area around 3:30 and got on a decent jig bite but still, only one 15-incher. Just can't seem to get on that program of catching a boatload of keepers every time out. Quillback and big c 2
176champion Posted October 26, 2015 Posted October 26, 2015 Talk about dinks..here one i caught a couple weeks ago around Campbell point area.He put up a good fight and didnt know if 12 pound test was gona hold him.. *T*, CBOWEN, Champ188 and 3 others 6 I know everything about nothing and know nothing about everything! Pepe Posted October 26, 2015 Posted October 26, 2015 I don't think your alone, Champ. I am hearing a lot of the blues except from tackle stores selling Whopper Ploppers, RK Crawlers , Ned's and Underspins. LOL. I'm wondering if most of the big ones have already been carted to the other end of the lake where all the tournaments are. Champ188 1

96 CHAMP Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 You probably weren't wearing one of those fancy jerseys with sponsor logos all over it. I may he wrong but being rude is another plus from what I hear, then maybe things will pick up for ya.

I'm gonna order me one of them sublimated, silkscreen, pretty boy jerseys with the logos of 14 companies who've never even heard of me. Once Donna has us in the water, I'll tell her to sit down, shut up and hang on (oh yeah, that'll end well). Then I'm gonna run like a spider monkey on meth to my first fishiin' hole, which will be conveniently located 50 yards in front of a guy trying to teach his 6-year-old son how to fish. I'll run up on the front deck like a crazy man, hurl the trolling motor over the bow and holler "SORRY TO CUT YOU OFF, BOYS, BUT I GOT A TOURNAMENT TO WIN!" Oh yeah, I'll have to fork over about $4000 for a pair of Power Poles so I can deploy them at the weigh-in to keep my boat from floating off the bank, since that's about all they're good for on Table Rock. Well, I guess I could string up some 100-pound braid between them and make a clothesline since I'll probably need to wash and dry my drawers after the guy with the 6-year-old pulls a .357 magnum and suggests a couple of new fishing spots I might want to try.
