aarchdale@coresleep.com Posted November 7, 2015 Posted November 7, 2015 Looking at repowering my boat and pending a compression reading im ready to do it. Im looking at an 2008 75 optimax. Just wondering what kind of compression im looking for. I know all the cylinders need to be fairly close but am i looking at 100's, 120's, 130's. I have done some research and havent really came up with a solid answer anywhere. Thanks in advance Wrench. I know your not a merc man but they are willing to trade my 60 4 stroke without me totally getting reamed
fishinwrench Posted November 7, 2015 Posted November 7, 2015 Gauges and cranking RPM varies from one engine to the next, so the actual reading isn't important as long as your high and low readings are within 10psi of each other. Oh, and who says I'm not a Merc man ? I have a whole parking lot full of them.
aarchdale@coresleep.com Posted November 8, 2015 Author Posted November 8, 2015 Haha. Thank you. I guess you love them as long as you don't own them. Anything else in that particular motor I should look for?
fishinwrench Posted November 8, 2015 Posted November 8, 2015 I don't think I have ever worked on a 75 Opti......So either there isn't many of them out there, or they are AWESOME. :)
