Champ, do you think I can follow the mudline & duplicate this pattern (cranking bluffs) from Hickory creek to Horseshoe Bend?

Just a thought, you may want to sit on those deep Bluff ends and drop a spoon. I got 2 over 5lbs like that the other day without moving the boat. There were lots of spots near the top tearing up a shad ball but the big LM were just lying deep and waiting on the wounded shad to drop down. I was on the Bluff by point 10.

The biggest error I see when the wind is blowing is that people will sit out from the wall and cast towards it, if you parallel the wall and find out how far from the wall they are sitting, you will not waste as much time cranking dead water.

Very good advice!

I went to dig out a war eagle spoon yesterday & then realized I left them at home. Doh!

I had to boat so close to the bluff that I would occasionally hit the overhang as I tried to cast the WW. I'm an old school bank beater, so I'm right at home paralleling the bank.

Thanks for the spoon tip, I will give it a try nest time.

I would think so down to Horseshoe but probably not much farther down than that. Might try it in Esculapia and Blackburn.

I threw the ww all morning Saturday between horseshoe and hickory and had zero takers.   Lake is turning over pretty good in this area so not sure what the deal was cuz I had been killin em for a couple weeks.. I'll be out tomorrow if the rain lets up

Im hoping we get 1" instead of 4" tonight. Its raining pretty hard out there.

I wouldn't be too hasty to run from the dirty water. We still have surface temps around 60 degrees, which sets up well for a strong runoff bite. As much as I dislike it for the most part, Beaver is known for producing some good bags of bass when there's fresh water pouring in the backs of the pockets and anywhere you have little cuts that channel runoff water into the lake. Spinnerbaits, a large square bill (think RC 2.5) or black-blue jigs with a big trailer like the new Big Bite Battle Bug will usually get their attention. Throw as far back into the source as you can (spinnerbait or jig) but save your square bill for places you can retrieve it if it hangs up.

Just a few suggestions from an old bank beater/mudhole fisherman. When this pattern is on, it'll produce some of the biggest bass in the lake.

Rivers rising hard, turbidity is 500 & the water temp jumped 8 degrees. Gonna be fun
