ollie Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 Hard to believe but this will be our ninth gathering for the annual olliefest! When: Sunday Nov. 29th. Where: Capps Creek. Time to start: 9:00 till noon. You will have 3 hours to prove your bragging rights to the creek! Every year it seems like it is either Buzz or myself that takes home the crown, but I would like to see someone else take the lead for a change. Who's in? Hopefully all this rain will end and the creek will be back to normal by then. I think it will be. We fish no matter what! Well, if it is raining cats and dogs then probably not. One of my best times there have been in the sleet so who knows what the weather will bring. Hope to see you there! trythisonemv and Buzz 2 "you can always beat the keeper, but you can never beat the post" There are only three things in life that are certain : death, taxes, and the wind blowing at Capps Creek!
trythisonemv Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 My best day down there was That 22degree day we had in November last year. Also had a twenty plus day in the rain. Buzz 1
Buzz Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 Sounds like a plan. I'm looking forward to it. If fishing was easy it would be called catching.
Members Skell9653 Posted November 19, 2015 Members Posted November 19, 2015 I'm new to this forum and to fishing Capps Creek. I'd like to hear some more about this "Olliefest"! Unfortunately I'm in Joplin and don't get out of church until noon! I'm curious if any stragglers will still be hanging around till later afternoon. trythisonemv 1
ollie Posted November 19, 2015 Author Posted November 19, 2015 We will meet at the parking lot somewhat across from the mill. It's the one over by the new bridge that stands next to the old wooden bridge. We meet there and then normally split up if there is enough of us. We will start at 9:00 and fish till noon. Normally Buzz stays longer than I do, but if the fishing is hot I will stay longer as well. Or if I end up with the bragging rights I will call it quits while I'm ahead! It would be good to see some other faces out there. I drive a white Ford Ranger with an OAF sticker in the back and Buzz drives a Dodge with plates that read "Buzz". ollie Posted November 21, 2015 Author Posted November 21, 2015 The whole creek is open! We just met back up in the parking lot a little after noon and tell our fish stories then! lol well at least Buzz tells his stories while the rest of us tell the truth. hahahaahaha Buzz and laker67 2 "you can always beat the keeper, but you can never beat the post" There are only three things in life that are certain : death, taxes, and the wind blowing at Capps Creek!
