Members sixstring531 Posted November 20, 2015 Members Posted November 20, 2015 I hunted yesterday and decided to stay in the office this morning instead of heading out to Stockton with my dad. I think I made the wrong decision! This is a 6lb4oz behemoth that hit a white spinner bait about half an hour ago. He said the large shad are stacking up in the backs of coves. blacknoseddace, dan hufferd, BilletHead and 3 others 6
fishinwrench Posted November 20, 2015 Posted November 20, 2015 Yep, that's a TOAD. Beats the heck out of sitting in a tree. Was it a shallow fish or was he slow rolling it out deeper?
Walcrabass Posted November 20, 2015 Posted November 20, 2015 Sixstring and others, That is a NICE BASS !!! I have caught many like that on Stockton. Just think what the fishing would be on a lake like Stockton with plenty of food that had a slot length ( which I have been told on good authority won't happen). Stockton would literally on a regular basis produce 8 to 10 pound Bass. Like Table Rock used to do before the Kentuckies took over. Sure hope Stockton gets that 12" Length limit on the Kentuckies they are talking about. The fishermen deserve that consideration I think. Walcrabass
Members sixstring531 Posted November 20, 2015 Author Members Posted November 20, 2015 Pretty sure he was shallow. We caught a 7lb6ozer in the spring, but she was full. This guy (or gal) would easily tip 8 in the spring time.
LoweSTX175 Posted November 20, 2015 Posted November 20, 2015 That thing is huge... I agree sure beats getting excited because you though the leaves rustling was a deer... but turned out to be a squirrel. I don't miss dear sitting....
Hammer time Posted November 20, 2015 Posted November 20, 2015 I not sure but don't think males get that big, I think it's a huge gal. Regardless that is very impressive and many anglers fish a lifetime and never catch one that big. Again way to go and congrats!
LoweSTX175 Posted November 20, 2015 Posted November 20, 2015 I hope I'm helping get the bass sizes up in Stockton. I'm personally a walleye, crappie, or white bass guy. I turn all LM Bass back no matter what size. I personally don't like to eat them and want to help the bass guys get bigger fish in the lake. Hammer time 1
Walcrabass Posted November 20, 2015 Posted November 20, 2015 Lowe, Thank you very much for releasing the Largemouth but please do me a favor. Keep ALL the legal Kentuckies. Myself and others do not want Stockton turning into " Table Rock Part 2". Walcrabass
LoweSTX175 Posted November 20, 2015 Posted November 20, 2015 I might need you guys to educate me on which ones are Kentucky. I don't mind doing that if I knew I could properly identify them. I actually had a meltdown this fall when one of my buddies tried to put a 19 inch bass into my livewell. I threw him back after we had a verbal exchange.
