I'm not complaining about him per say......I really don't pay that much attention to them. They are "refs" so they need to be impartial and such. There is one guy that is just.....a bit on the dry side. There was one ref with Mark Davis laughing at his comments. I enjoyed seeing the refs being "human" and enjoying their job/role. Mark was saying "He looks like ole fat daddy. He's been eating at the same places I do!" lol Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. He will treat you like family!!! I owe fishinwrench a lot of thanks. He has been a great mechanic with lots of patience!

Would guess late May or June. I heard them complaining about the heat, so Im assuming mid summer. but then again, that person might not be able to handle the humidity down south.

Was thinking late spring/early summer based on Wheeler looking for bluegill beds. Think it was him, at least.
Ketchup Posted January 23, 2016 Author Posted January 23, 2016 Andy, In any profession, especially those that are in the public eye, a person should be able to understand that there will be people that think no matter if they were joking or not, they should still refrain from saying things that make them look a fool. I too figured he was "trying" to be funny, with what appeared to be a small hint of dry personality, but at the same time, his tone, lack of smirk or smile made him look like a fat, grumpy guy that the ref needed to push out of the boat to cool his head. As far as him acting a fool due to the lake not producing. Well, if that's the case, we would all have those grumpy, PMS days to where everyone around us thought we were pricks. And Im sure a lot do, but not in the TV world. I love the show, but like stated, it brings out the lack of knowledge in some of the pros. It's good to see them struggle like us average guys. J-Doc Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 No sorry. First time in quite a while is what I should have said. Scott Suggs knows Ozark lakes well and if he was struggking, I dare say we all would have struggled on that lake that day. Ned or no Ned. I do agree that the Ned would have put more fish in the boat however. I have that much confidence in it but.....there have been days where I didn't get a bite even on the Ned. Need marine repair? This is true, but those days are rare. Especially if the waters warm. I doubt you would zero with the Ned in 8hrs of fishing. These guys are professionals, not weekend anglers. I didn't see round 2, hopefully they run it again. But round 3 was boring. I don't understand why they forced them to fish the upper end of Dale Hollow. Why not let them find the primo smallie spot on that lake?

I think they were basically nervous about trying to catch brown fish. Lot of guys don't have clue one about catching brownies outside of the Great Lakes and other up north waters.
