bkbying89 Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 Any information on Council Bluffs. Fished a while back, pretty lake with OK fishing.
Haris122 Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 No information to add, just that I want to fish it sometime this year too.
mjk86 Posted January 28, 2016 Posted January 28, 2016 Ive fished it for bluegill a few times, but it was several years ago. Caught some along with some small bass on light panfish jigs, and crawlers. Beautiful lake though ill agree, at least when i was there. Im sure there are plenty of fish to be had if one were to get to know it well. bkbying89 1
bkbying89 Posted January 29, 2016 Author Posted January 29, 2016 I remember that it was known for nice bass and crappie but when I fished it I didn't see either, The wind was blowing so hard that we ran the battery down in the bass boat. I might have to give it a try come spring.
David Unnerstall Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 The fishing report always says fish are being caught during low light periods. I have fished there and it seems before dusk everyone was just putting in. It was a 10-horse limit or idle-speed and I have not heard if that changed. It is nice to be away from all of the pleasure boaters. I recall catching red-ears there but is has been a while since I fished it. bkbying89 1
Members kbbgood Posted April 13, 2016 Members Posted April 13, 2016 Wondering if the lake gets too bad for a canoe on it or is it safe? Anyone know if it has walleye in it?
jdmidwest Posted April 13, 2016 Posted April 13, 2016 Its safe for canoe. No walleye. Just the usual bass, panfish, catfish. Pretty clear lake with good depth and standing timber. Forest all around except for campground. "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Thompson
stlfisher Posted April 28, 2016 Posted April 28, 2016 I have fished it several times. Plenty of Bass, Panfish, and I hear good Catfish. You really need a boat or canoe to fish it. the low horsepower limit is nice for canoeing or kayaking.
