WeekendWarrior Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 Went for a little boat ride with the wife today, took a trip from 28 mm to 54 bridge in Nianguas and was able to get an hour or so of fishing in. Boy what a BIG difference in water clarity from around my area to Niangua. Ended up with 5 fish and 1 or 2 keepers. MOsmallies, fishinwrench and trythisonemv 3
Flatbottom Boy Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 Awesome! I was out there too a lot longer than a couple hours and I got my butt handed to me. I need to start throwing that A rig I think. I got some gift cards this Christmas and decided I was going to try one of those megabass baits. I fished for an hour with it, now there is a log in the Niangua thats worth at least 25 bucks! We boated one fish on a rouge and I had a few takes on the chompers but no hookups. Nice day though.
WeekendWarrior Posted February 7, 2016 Author Posted February 7, 2016 The a-rig definitely works, still looking for my first double on it. You just have to commit to it. It was a perfect day for it with windy conditions yesterday. I should be out there today throwing it cause conditions are perfect for it today. Also had one just inhale my megabass, back hook was in gullet which I was able to get out luckily.
96 CHAMP Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 Looks like you had a good day being out and about, I am not much on the A-rig, but thinking about coming down soon, anybody know what the water clarity is in the gravois??
WeekendWarrior Posted February 8, 2016 Author Posted February 8, 2016 Was in gravois last weekend and had a foot to foot and a half visibility, pretty good stain to it. It is better than the main lake but still not good. I do not think it will clear till March but who knows.
