Members Tyler Martin Posted February 19, 2016 Members Posted February 19, 2016 I plan on putting in around the Bridgeport/Cape Fair area in the morning. I have grown up fishing small rivers mainly in just the summer time so I'm still pretty inexperienced at Table Rock. I have some ideas in mind, but I was looking for a couple tips for this weekend. (I'm not asking for anyone's deep dark secrets). It ran through my mind to try and fish some prespawn patterns. It it too early for this? Are the fish still deep or are they expected to start moving shallow soon? Any help appreciated. Thanks in advance guys.
Members HardHead Posted February 19, 2016 Members Posted February 19, 2016 days are getting longer, have had a few day warming trend - I wouldn't be surprised if you find some fish staging. Like a lot of folks, Crawfish patterns with a little red are my favorite during the pre-spawn. Baxter area is my fav area to fish this time of year. Good luck, post pics. I can't get out on table rock for another month, your alls pics are the only thing getting me by! big c 1
rps Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 I was out today, but way up river from your launch point. I found 48 to 49 degree water. I caught 2 with 1 being a keeper on a wart imitator. green or brown with red. I do not A rig, but if you do I suggest you use it as well.

I do not have an A-rig, but I do have a BooYah Teaser, which is very similar to the A-rig but only has one hook on the rear, that I got from Mystery Tackle Box. I thought about giving it a shot.
Champ188 Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 Finesse jig (GP/orange with a GP Lil Critter Craw trailer) and a Rock Crawler or Wiggle Wart in reddish/orangish/greenish colors should do you very well. I wouldn't be afraid to slow roll a spinnerbait too if you find water 48 degrees or up. mixermarkb and big c 2
