Oval Split Rings

I recognize this is a minor thing in the world of fishing gear, but years ago after buy/using some Lucky Craft stick baits, I got into the habit of changing out OE standard split rings to the ovals on many other baits (Spro, Megabass, Wiggle Warts).  Wonder why other manufacturers don't consider these?  Can't be much of a cost thing or more difficult assembly.  Sure like being able to tie on to the end of the ovals and not be concerned about being up against the cut wire.  And, by the way, it is fairly difficult to make the split ring swap out with my old eyes and fingers.  Thoughts?

It's not super easy with a good pair of split ring pliers either. The Xuron pliers will do it, but it's not hard to bend one.

I should save mine and send them to you. I take them off immediately, and use a good duolock style snap.

They are better than tying direct to the standard round split ring. I actually don't care for them as I take them off anyways because I use a duo lock quick snap on all my topwaters, jerks and cranks.

Yeah, thanks, I will look into quick snaps.

Only time I tie direct to the split ring is when some models of cranks have the cupped or recessed line tie where it is a pain to awkwardly force a lock snap in there. But that is rare and I think a few SPRO cranks I have and only a couple others I have to do that for.

Wiggle Warts and RK Crawlers seem to be the most difficult to change out with the smaller or recessed line tie.
