Opening day 3-01-2016

Another opening day in the books. Morning started off with little thunder shower not to bad. At the siren temperature about 55 but been dropping ever sense of well. Crowd seem little bigger than last year I will try and get a number and post it later.

Was it congested all over the place or did it thin out the further you walked? Maybe next year it will hit on a day I don't work. I've been meaning to see what it's all about for years now. Any huge fish caught?

I fished above the bridge about 50 yds and it really wasn't too crowded for opening day. Still combat fishing and I had about all I could handle of people by 9:30 am. Air temp was 56 when I left my truck and 38 when I got back. Pretty quick drop for only a few hours. Saw several nice trout caught and everyone seemed to be on their best behavior.

How early is it open. I've been there plenty but never early on. Been hearing that around opening bell is the time to be there so I might try to do that tomorrow.

Dad and I got down around 2pm this afternoon and purchased tags 929 and 930. We fished the hole by the second cleaning station and the pond hole for a few hours and it was pretty slow. I caught 7 trout and several small goggle eye on white jigs and trout worms while dad only managed 1 trout while fishing 007 and powerbait under a float. The guys using trout worms and jigs were doing the best. That wind was brutal! Even though it was above freezing, my hands felt like I was fishing in 20 degree weather. They were cold and numb shortly after landing my first trout and getting them wet.

Man, looks like I won't make it there as early as I'd like if I do go tomorrow. Came out to the parking lot after work, only to find one of my tires flat as a pancake.
