Neds

Ok the other day Phils one cast he threw a ned rig.  I'm just wondering how effective a ned would be, it seems kind of big. Anybody ever do any good with them?

Guys are throwing 8 inch long articulated flys. A Ned rig gets eaten by everything that swims. Trout swim.

Get a lot of strikes but few hookups. And you're right it's because of the size of the ned.

I used some last year, but always do better with a jig from Lileys.  I think they are just too big to get consistent hook ups, but we caught some fish on them.

if you tried the zman 4 inch finesse worm cut down a little it would be a much smaller diameter than the zinker z therefore may work better.  I pour my own ned heads to, I could maybe pour some with a smaller hook for you guys to try if that would help
