Members jtwest Posted March 16, 2016 Members Posted March 16, 2016 There was an area you could reach by walking down a trail near the Mitchell Century Farm and a trailer. It's been marked off as Private Property and the owner apparently does not want anybody on his land. After seeing the trash some left behind, understandable. Question - does anybody know of another route to access this area?
trythisonemv Posted March 16, 2016 Posted March 16, 2016 I think when the river comes down you can wade down from 215. I've done it before! Long walk though
DADAKOTA Posted March 16, 2016 Posted March 16, 2016 I've put in at Aldrich and gone up river and put in miles up river and floated down in a canoe. Can someone list the order of the bridges I encountered going up river from Aldrich not including the one by the ramp?
Members willcroskey Posted March 17, 2016 Members Posted March 17, 2016 Orleans then Taylor then I believe an old railroad bridge then 215 I think not 100%
slab slinger Posted March 17, 2016 Posted March 17, 2016 There are 15 bridges that cross the little sac below fellows lake. Starting at Aldrich heading up river Orleans Taylor Rail Road Bridge 215 HWY E. 560th Rd S. 111th Rd FR 115 BB HWY FR 44 FR 54 O HWY FR 117 FR 125 FR 129 13 HWY I recommend floating the river above Taylor Bridge on, because of rough terrain and private land. There's some good fishing in the upper stretches of the LS. Whites will travel further than you think during the spawn and there's some great smallmouth and LMB fishing between 13 HWY and Taylor Bridge. If you follow the path from Taylor up river you will end up at the power line at the hole by the Mitchell Farm. Rough walking but it'll get you there. Good luck. BilletHead and trythisonemv 2
DADAKOTA Posted March 18, 2016 Posted March 18, 2016 Thanks. How far below 13 before it is normally floatable.
Members jtwest Posted March 18, 2016 Author Members Posted March 18, 2016 Thanks for the info. I've been staring at the map where the Frisco Trail goes over it and climbing down from there. If it works, I'll pass along the information.

Members ehertz Posted March 18, 2016 Members Posted March 18, 2016 Problem with walking down or up from the bridge is that you are trespassing. This was the problem at the property in question and why we are now shut out. Many of us (myself included) had assumed that it was a MDC access since one of their signs (a "no vehicles beyond this point" sign) was at the parking area. It is in fact private. After years of people entering without asking and yes, leaving trash (and ruts) they finally had enough and closed it last year. I had a lengthy conversation with them and apologized. They let me fish one last time and I gave them a limit of fillets as thanks. You probably need to ask before you waltz in there to avoid another problem. Best bet is to come up from Taylor via a boat or trail. That way your on Corps land.
trythisonemv Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 I agree with hertz . Only other option is to wade down from 215 area staying off land.
