Members Rackasaurus Posted March 18, 2016 Members Posted March 18, 2016 Looking for some suggestions on Crappie spots on the James, heading out from the Hideaway area, points 11 12. Thanks for any help that keeps me from running all over.
GNSfishing Posted March 18, 2016 Posted March 18, 2016 Go to the MO conservation web site and download the file that gives the waypoints for their brush pile locations all over Table Rock lake including the James River arm of the lake. Those spots will give you areas to try for crappie, they also hold bass in these locations. These waypoints will give you places to try, not every spot will hold fish at times depending on water temperature and depth but sooner or later the fish will be there. magicwormman Posted March 19, 2016 Posted March 19, 2016 I would head to pt. 15 area. the crappie bite has been pretty good last week. I'm not sure what the cold front will do to them. Rackasaurus 1

Seth Posted March 20, 2016 Posted March 20, 2016 We caught them good around point 15 on visible brush and timber last Monday. The better quality fish seemed to bite first and then it was nothing but shorts after that. Our best quality fish came off big trees that came off of the bottom towards the surface at a 45* angle. They would vite as soon as you drug your jig over the top. I am guessing they were holding in the shade beneath the tree to stay out of the sun. The muddy water killed the bite on the river side on Monday, but we still caught some in Peach Orchard and up Flat Creek. Snaggers will be out in the deeper water and shouldn't bother a guy trying to crappie fish up near brush. I would stay around point 15 if the water has cleared up any.
Members InPiney Posted March 21, 2016 Members Posted March 21, 2016 We were up there Friday morning and the snaggers were thick from 15 to Bridgeport. Water was muddy most places but found some clearer spots up in Flat Creek. Would think it has cleared since then.
