chi0082 Posted March 20, 2016 Posted March 20, 2016 Haven't posted a report in awhile so thought I'd give you guys some intel for whatever it's worth to you. I went out to the mouth of roaring river by the waterfall to look for some white bass, crappie, or anything. Water was about 55 degrees in the late afternoon. I fished from about 4:30 to dark using a variety of swim baits, jigs, and the A-rig. Not a single bite. Water was clear I could see the bottom of 8ft of water. Looks like the white bass are not in there yet. Cold front probably shut things down. Hope that helps someone out. Anyone have any luck anywhere else for white bass? Anything up the James?
Members Joenothum Posted March 21, 2016 Members Posted March 21, 2016 Last week I caught a few females up long creek. They were as far up as I wanted to take my boat. I would agree with you it just has not happened yet. chi0082 1
Champ188 Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 Hey chi0082, thanks for the report and especially for being man enough to say I didn't catch squat. Wish everyone rolled that way. Reports like these help every bit as much as the 50-fish-a-day reports. Ninety percent of fishing is find the darn things, so reports like this help guys steer away from areas where it just isn't happening at the time. chi0082 and InPiney 2

abkeenan Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 Wow. Is that a softshell? That's a nice one. Probably thought you snagged a hubcap coming up from cranking depth.
