chi0082 Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 Like the titel says, what are your recommendations for swimbaits. I'm looking for swimbaits to put on an A-rig. And what's your preferred jig head for an A-rig? Anybody have good luck with Keitechs? I've never tried them but heard good things about them. What else is good out there that you've had good luck with? Thanks and tight lines!

I use the 3" but they have whatever size you want from 2-6" in a wide variety of fish catching colors. They are denser plastic/rubber and are very durable. Also come with a nice stout and sharp hook. I like the pre-rigged aspect as you just pop them out of the pack and onto your snaplock on the A-Rig arm. http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Storm_Wild_Eye_Swim_Shad_Swim_Baits_3pk/descpage-SWE.html chi0082 1
fishinwrench Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 The one time I tried the Wildeye shads I couldn't get them to run straight, they wanted to roll over on their sides. I tried bending the hook eye to make it stay straight but it just didn't work. What's the trick with those things ?

I only throw them on A-Rigs and not as a single/solo bait. Not sure if the rigidity of the A-Rig keeps them running straight even though they are out of tune to where I wouldn't know it.

Yea I've had the same experience as well on more than one occassion, actually it's much harder to find one that'll run true. I've stopped using them because of that. I think it has to do with how the plastic is molded to the lead weight and where the hook is located. It needs to be molded nearly perfect for it to run true.
bferg Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 Kaitechs- worth it. Put a little glue on the head and I run them pretty much until the tail falls totally off. They are soft and do get beat up- but that only seems to make them better. I did pick up some new z-man paddle tails that I am excited to try. chi0082 1
