Fished Prairie Lake in Weldon Spring CA from 6-7:30.  Nightcrawlers (gifted from another angler - thanks!) under an EZ Trout bobber.  Many, many good sized bluegill between 6 and 6:45, only one after that.  They were hitting like trucks.  6 fow 2 ft down.

It's a strange lake, that one.  It's very deep, has very good fishing, but it's trash city.  I only ever see one or two other anglers out there at any given time, and lots of the trash is food/beverage containers for products that haven't been made in years.  Lots of pull tabs(!) from old-type cans.

It's also one of those lakes whose level changes up and down on a day to day basis, sometimes dramatically.  And they don't allow boats.  Not that that seems to stop anybody, heh.

That lake sounds like a project begging to have a group of anglers go out with the express purpose of picking up some trash. I will make it out there some day next week, after the holiday.

how can some one leave their own with such disregard?

Because they know someone like you will come along and clean it up for them. It's the American way. We used to have the same problems at some of the parks in and around Springfield but they finally found a cure. Now NOBODY can fish.

:(  it's very sad the amount of trash at busch, I'm sure welding spring is worse with easier access.  I simply don't understand how someone could just leave their garbage and not feel bad.  I get seriously pissed off.  If I feel guilty enough and embarrassed to pick up other people's trash, how can some one leave their own with such disregard?  In 2 separate locations this year bow hunting I saw a makeshift ground blind with a dozen or so empties.  I could go on and on about the trash at busch.  It's not as bad as forest park though which is covered in rotting trout carcasses, power baits,  latex gloves, and various other used medical devices.  People...

They don't think.....at all.
