Ketchup Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 Put in on this windy day at 9:00am. 2 of us fished up Aunts on points, into some backwater picking up a 16" KY. Right off the bat. Fat fish with obvious eggs in tow. Around 11 we moved over to the point at Little Aunts Creek catching a short K and a short Smallie. Fished down the wind blown side and hooked up on 3 other shorts. Towards the back we caught another 2 keepers, and another short. The wind was not as bad up the cove, but still blowing pretty good. We caught short fish on the Ned, keepers on cranks, and another short on a chatter bait. Our first club tourney of the year is there this Sat. so wanted to see what the fish were doing. The water was in pretty good shape. Low of 49 and hi temps of 56. Didn't catch the keepers I thought we might have, but we did catch a few, so overall a productive day. marcus, Macsimus, Quillback and 1 other 4 TinBoats BassClub. An aluminum only bass club. cheesemaster Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 Thanks for the report. Did you chuck around the A-rig at all?
rps Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 Well done. I was out yesterday so I know how the wind affected you.
Ketchup Posted March 24, 2016 Author Posted March 24, 2016 No I didn't cheese. I have thrown that thing probably a total of 3 hours in the past few weeks "only time ever using one" and have never caught a fish, so I stick to the things I'm kinda confident in. I read and see guys chunkin them and catching fish, but I must be doing it all wrong, because the fish run the opposite way. Of course it could be my choice of baits I have on. Yes rps, in the main lake it was nasty today. It's supposed to die down for the weekend. cheesemaster 1 TinBoats BassClub. An aluminum only bass club. If interested in info send me a PM.
Ketchup Posted March 24, 2016 Author Posted March 24, 2016 I'm going to try to get out Friday. Sat. we launch for tourney at 7. Hoping to have something figured out by then. Looks like a cold front tomorrow into Friday. Saturday looks pretty good. Think I need to back off to a little deeper water to find the good ones. TinBoats BassClub. An aluminum only bass club. GREENTRITON Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 Glad to see to caught a few in Aunts creek, I put in at Aunts yesterday also, two hours of fighting the wind and I was done. Zero fish for me, thought for sure they would eat the blade with the wind no go. I be back next week...
