Kramr Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 Saw 1 estimate of 50 degrees today. From what I have read, the spawn starts around 55 degrees. What are people actually seeing?
Members bassangler Posted April 6, 2016 Members Posted April 6, 2016 water temps are now in the upper 50s, if you can find the right water your gonna catch fish shallow.
Members ewlech Posted April 6, 2016 Members Posted April 6, 2016 Saturday I found water 52-58 from Cedar Ridge to up by Aldrich.
Kramr Posted April 6, 2016 Author Posted April 6, 2016 So if I read correctly, spawning starts in the upper arms and then works it's way down to the main lake. Think there will be any crappie still spawning by the second week in May? bassfisher 1

Think there will be any crappie still spawning by the second week in May? I'm sure someone is going to argue with me... but yes they will still be spawning on Stockton the second week in May. I have caught crappie all the way up until the first week of June around Hawker Point that still have eggs in them. slab slinger and bassfisher 2

We were jigging visible timber in one cove and saw another boat catch 4-5 crappie right next to the bank, but the action was far from furious. There only keeper crappie we caught were on trees in 8-20 ft of water.
bassfisher Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 Lowe is correct and crappie are being caught late in the evening and at night in 4 ft
