I'm not great at any one species cause I like to change it up all the time. Some days just playing with the bluegill and green sunfish makes me happy. Of course a 50lb striper on 6lb would be great. I think I get bored too easy, and why I don't stick to just one type of fish. I saw on the news that they were doing some type of study to see if Beaver was getting too overpopulated with boats and people. It will be interesting to see the results. Not sure how they determine the answer on that study??? Many of the lakes have advisories on eating the fish and so far Beaver "seems" to be clean, but I hope that's because it's checked often. Always picking up garbage that people leave all over the shoreline after they are done hanging out drinking and relaxing. The crows and buzzards eat the food scraps and filleted fish carcasses but nothing seems to eat the cans, and plastic. Does anyone know if a 39" walleye would be a record for this lake? That Striper comment was a jab at an old fight that used to go on this forum....not a shot at anybody. A lot of bass guys even FLW pros blamed the stripers on lack of big bass in Beaver. I would love to find lake records on any fish but all anyone seems to keep are state records. Who keeps lake records in other states? Who would we need to petition to get an state office to start? Make it an elected position with a fat salary and I will throw my hat in the ring.... The Corps used to sponsor clean up the lake days were everyone showed up and filled their boats with trash and brought it into PC to see who could make the biggest stack. I have not seen that for at least two years, could be because I am on the road so much now.
Vinsott Posted July 2, 2016 Author Posted July 2, 2016 Went to go check the boat this afternoon to find I was robbed. Brand new kayak that my kids bought me for fathers day, 4 good rod and reels, and all my tackle stolen. Total aggravation!!!!!!!!!!
Robert Haynes Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 When I bought my first boat, 40 years ago, on first trip out, I decided to start motor before loading boat. I accidently drifted from the dock and could not get the motor started. As I watched and yelled at him, a guy stole 2 brand new rod and reels and all my tackle out of my truck. There should be a special justice for people like that, administered by fisherman. Dan the fisherman and Vinsott 2

Get a license plate or anything?
Vinsott Posted July 6, 2016 Author Posted July 6, 2016 I am waiting to pick up the police report as soon as they finish it. I hate thieves!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dan the fisherman 1
Stump bumper Posted July 6, 2016 Posted July 6, 2016 Did you check the local pawn shops? I had an expensive Mountain bike stolen a few years ago and the guy who took it was dumb enough to pawn it and leave a copy of his ID. That had a serial number and and I had a receipt, with fishing equipment other than electronics it is hard to prove. I have read so many articles about props and batteries being stolen from Table Rock boat docks makes me wonder why people leave anything at their docks anymore. I have had break ins in my garage and had to install a better door and dead bolt just to protect the tools and beer fridge. Putting up motion activated lights and big security cameras (not working) seems to have scared them from the house but everyone knows the lake is not patrolled so I guess it is the perfect place for meth heads to steal from, probably from stolen boats. I am very sorry for your loss and there is nothing lower than a thief, but there are a lot of warnings on the forum about not leaving anything on your dock or in your truck near the lake.
Flysmallie Posted July 6, 2016 Posted July 6, 2016 Just be careful about asking questions like that at a pawn shop. I did that a few years ago when I had some stuff stolen out of my office. Things got heated with one gun carrying shop owner because apparently I was calling him a thief. It wasn't fun.
Mike jones Posted July 6, 2016 Posted July 6, 2016 Many years ago, I was fishing a Everstart tourney on Lake of the Ozarks. We were staying on the lake like a lot of guys..when we motored over to PB2 for day 2, we found out that some thieves had went into a resort in the glaize, cut loose several bass boats and pulled them out into the middle of the lake. They then loaded down one of the boats with everything from all the others and took off. I'm sure some of the guys on this board remember that...Lake of the Ozarks has always been really bad for stuff getting stolen from boats...like stump said, I don't know why anyone would leave anything of value on a dock!!

I remember that well, Mike. Pretty sure it was Robin's Resort that got hit. I was up there the week before for Central Pro-Am. Mike jones 1
Champ188 Posted July 7, 2016 Posted July 7, 2016 Tell you something else I remember from the week prior. The Central Pro-Am tourney was our season championship and that was back when the circuit actually paid something. First and second place on the pro side both received Skeeter boats and third place won a 200-hp Yamaha motor. First place on the co-angler side also paid a boat. There was also cash for other top finishers. Both days of our championship, I came across multiple guys who were there practicing for the Everstart who asked me if I was fishing the CPA derby, and when I said yes they would pull up their trolling motors, say good luck and go elsewhere. There was one exception, but isn't there always? Granted, they were only practicing for a derby that didn't start for another 4-5 days, but I still thought the Everstart guys showed a bunch of class that week by letting us CPA guys have our water to ourselves.
