Members Rick E Posted May 20, 2016 Members Posted May 20, 2016 Does anyone know if the bridge at Kimberling City is safe to pull a boat through now? I have stayed away from it as I heard it was very narrow while pulling a boat but heard that it is wider now and wanted to confirm. Thinking of fishing Mill Creek tourney tonight. Thanks
OldMillRoad Posted May 20, 2016 Posted May 20, 2016 Two weeks ago they pulled the Jersey barriers and just had traffic cones up. I got across just fine. I would assume its even better now. It will be nice when they get that old girl finished. dtrs5kprs 1
dtrs5kprs Posted May 20, 2016 Posted May 20, 2016 Stayed next to the guys doing the work in April. No one wanted it to be done worse than them. They were busting butt to get finished. That 9'6" width sign was a serious pucker inducer. OldMillRoad, huntest and Quillback 3
OldMillRoad Posted May 20, 2016 Posted May 20, 2016 Dave, you aren't kidding. Pulling the new cat across for her maiden voyage had me nervous as a cat crapping peach pits. dtrs5kprs, huntest, Champ188 and 1 other 4

Also supposed to have a project at Theodosia and Noel.

Friend driving is a horse trailer pulling, cowboy type. Had never seen him look antsy in a vehicle until he was first in line to cross going south. Coming back we watched Webb run across it towing his boat. Heebies and jeebies both.
m&m Posted May 20, 2016 Posted May 20, 2016 I have not been across it since they removed the jersey barriers but prior to that I drove over it a number of times pulling my boat. My strategy was to go slow and watch the driver's side. If I keep it close on that side, then the passenger side should be okay. But in any case it certainly raises the blood pressure when you first enter the bridge deck. Mike dtrs5kprs 1
176champion Posted May 20, 2016 Posted May 20, 2016 I go across Shell knob bridge all the time and even with my skinny champ at 93" from fender to fender it's close....i also go over some narrower bridges on the way there going south on 39 from Aurora and im towing with a Ford ranger. I know everything about nothing and know nothing about everything! Bruce Philips
Members Rick E Posted May 20, 2016 Author Members Posted May 20, 2016 Thanks for input. A couple of people told me they crossed it within the last couple of days and it is wider with the barriers removed. I hope so crossing it at 2 am coming back
