Members Nimrod Nick Posted May 23, 2016 Members Posted May 23, 2016 Fished this last sat night 9:30pm- 3:30 when the fog rolled in. Caught a 5.1 and 4.4 and 3-17" large mouth 6-8' on spinnerbait, main lake banks. Best bite was at 1am, caught many 14" spots & a few smallmouth. Took a nap from 3:30 until 6 am and the top water was great action but no keeper's until I went down after them with a grub in 25'-30' and had 3 keeper's, I had fun and wanted to share. Hammer time, Pepe and magicwormman 3
Quillback Posted May 23, 2016 Posted May 23, 2016 Congrats on some nice fish. That night fishing pays off.
96 CHAMP Posted May 24, 2016 Posted May 24, 2016 Sounds fantastic Nick, that's the real deal hooking up with ole bucket mouth on a spinner bait in the middle of the night, gets my blood boiling just thinking about it. I had a man tell me once that fishing is good therapy, to me that is the place for it. Mind me asking what spinner baits & where, earlier in the spring I had some great spinner bait fishing in Mill Creek using black & purple. Great fishing on what sounds like a Great time!!! Members Nimrod Nick Posted May 24, 2016 Author Members Posted May 24, 2016 Blk&purple single blade #7, mostly on steeper rock, not bluff banks, but around main points & some secondary points. The jig also worked but the good fish liked the 1/2 oz. Spinner slow rolled.best spot was Carter point and east bank coming out of carter. Shifty 1
Hammer time Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 Thanks for the report, it's time for the night bite to take off. I'll be doing some myself real soon. Nothing like the hard strikes at night!
