Members kelbrand Posted May 26, 2016 Members Posted May 26, 2016 Haven't been out much, was curious how everyone is doing on Bass and Crappie. Any info?
Ranger520vx Posted May 26, 2016 Posted May 26, 2016 Caught a limit of crappie off brush piles this morning on 1/24 oz jigs . Then done pretty good on bass on top water while it was still cloudy. Also been catching quite a few bass on jigs in 10 to 15 fow. on bluff ends and transition banks. White bass have been pretty good early and late in the day on shallow flats. Water temp right around 70 visibility 3 ft. or so. Lake is about 3 ft. High and falling as of now. Hope that helps. Hammer time and marcus 2
Members Ryno Posted May 27, 2016 Members Posted May 27, 2016 How deep were the crappie? I'm assuming about 15fow? "set the steel to em"
MOPanfisher Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 Pomme peaked out on Wednesday at about 0900 hrs, just under 842.5. It caught me by surprise peaking that quickly, as I went out Wednesday evening to throw crankbaits at some points to see if any walleye were interested. They like to be right at the bushes when water is up and stable, and will pound a crankbait sometimes. Sadly I was too late, or it simply wasn't happening. Caught a couple nice channel cats that hit like a ton of bricks, a few LM, drum, and dink white bass. Outflows for the weekend will be cut back from 2000 CFS to 500 CFS, unless something major happens with the predicted rains. 500 makes for a much safer float on the river below the dam, and if inflows don't rise, should hold lake steady to possibly even a very slow drop, should be great for fishing in between storms.
Ranger520vx Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 OK guys the lake dropped about 3 in last night caught limit of crappie this morning shad colored jigs. I've been catching them on main lake brush piles in 16 to 24 fow. MOPanfisher and zarraspook 2
MOPanfisher Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 AWESOME!! I should have been fishing for them instead of walleye.
