Kramr Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 Love to spoon fish but I hardly ever do it. Think the main reason is the likelihood of catching a brushpile. Seems like spoons are all hook ready to catch on anything. Mike Worley taught me to remove the barbs so it's easier to get unstuck. Any advice? dan hufferd 1
dprice Posted June 1, 2016 Posted June 1, 2016 No idea how to do that But if sure like to learn Dprice priceheatingair.com
dan hufferd Posted June 1, 2016 Author Posted June 1, 2016 That spoon is deadly on table rock. Bass pro 1/2 oz jiggy twitch it hd. It might be my favorite way to fish. When you are graphing large schools of bait fish and you see those big marks going though them, or you graph what looks like suspended spaghetti, or you see fish busting the water like the spots are doing on T Rock that seem to be the time for a spoon. When I cast it or jig it I try to follow it down with my rod giving it the least amount of slack to fall freely. They pick it up on the drop so you don't want to much slack or you might miss one. I think I can cast a 1/2 oz spoon what seems like 75 yards. It is really fun when it works. I have picked up bass and walleye in 30 FOW doing this. Hope that helps P.S. You can always tell if it is a drum, they must be able to feel the vibration from the spoon really well. I have seen them multiple times drive 20' or more to get a spoon. It is really cool to watch on the sonar ! blacknoseddace, Kramr, Johnsfolly and 1 other 4

Members eagle1584 Posted June 3, 2016 Members Posted June 3, 2016 x2 on the Bink's spoons, it's a nice product. Sell them out of Moline, IL but they were made for Bink's guide service on Norfork Lake. Lots of good youtube videos of Bink fishing them down there catching a bit of everything on them. As Dan said look them up if you have the time. He catches a lot of really nice walleye on them. I have a bunch of them but have not broken them out on Stockton. Talked about it quite a bit just never pulled the trigger. I've fished Norfork a couple times in the summer and fished these for hybrids and stripers in really deep water, sometimes down as deep as 100'. It was over 100 degrees last time I was there and the water was 22' high so we only managed a couple of hybrids but I'll definitely give it another chance this summer when things slow down everywhere else. dan hufferd 1
dan hufferd Posted June 4, 2016 Author Posted June 4, 2016 Mr Baker is good people, and has great customer service. Some friends and I have been talking about going to Beaver this summer, I will be trying out some of those Binks spoons !
