Quillback Posted June 6, 2016 Posted June 6, 2016 Well things sure have slowed down. Water is a heavily stained green color from Roaring river down to past point 23. At least that's as far as I roamed today. I don't know if it is some kind of algae bloom, plankton bloom, runoff, or all of the above. Anyway, caught about 20 black bass, but mostly short fish, only 2 keepers. Top water was slow, caught most of them on c-rigged Zoom UV Speed Craws and a few on jigs. Fished mostly gravel points and a few rocky banks. I might try beating the bushes with squarebills and jigs if this water stays stained and the level remains at 917. Water temp - 77. huntest, cheesemaster, Hammer time and 1 other 4
m&m Posted June 6, 2016 Posted June 6, 2016 Quill, it is quite possible that the fish have grown accustomed to your boat and the bigger fish collectively decided to not fall for your tricks. IMO Mike Macsimus, Hammer time, Quillback and 1 other 4
Hammer time Posted June 7, 2016 Posted June 7, 2016 Good job! With lake temps in upper 70's they are gonna start locating on summer haunts. For me this means night fishing with a jig, big worm and single spin blade. Thanks for the report. dtrs5kprs 1
176champion Posted June 7, 2016 Posted June 7, 2016 Son was out around Shell Knob and water temp's there he said was 80 degrees. I know everything about nothing and know nothing about everything! Bruce Philips

Had my first black single spin fish of the year last night just fiddling around the dock. Also eating the little guy. Map Guy, Champ188, Hammer time and 1 other 4
