I have my doubts about the fish in coves 15-30 miles from the dam even recognizing water movement from average generation. Agreed. I fish the main lake almost exclusively from May through November so I can't tell you what fish in the coves are doing other than to say fish in those with feeders will at times set up the same as the main lake. Indian creek is an excellent example. Mike
fishinwrench Posted June 21, 2016 Posted June 21, 2016 Once upon a time I had pinned down the sweet spot on Tony's point and could set out there and be culling within 2 hours during a June-July evening. Being able to stand up in the boat there now only happens in dreams. What kinda boat are you fishing strictly main lake areas in ?

A small one. 18 1/2 Crestliner Fish Hawk; I still have pretty good sea legs and a good seat with a 2 3/8 post to lean on. 80# Ulterra with 60" shaft and at times even she is completely out of the water. The fish don't seem to care though....gotta love our LOZ..... WeekendWarrior 1

I been after him about the shot thing for sometime. He beats around the bush but what he is really saying I think your full of BS you old Fart. I have had pretty good success with With it right thru all this heat. Not heavy stringers. But several over 16" and 3 one evening All over 17" Got one 19" also ,that was a fat heavy 4 lber. I have one living under the corner of one of the docks I walk to that is a real hog. Been there for several weeks. I have hooked him 3 times but because of the shoulder I am having a hell of a time getting enough power to really dive the hook home through those big fat plastic worms. Last time I lost him he jumped and he will get your attention. This evening is my final out for awhile for as short as they have been. They are going to replace the knee tomorrow. then we will see about the shoulder. BY the way Paul I will be coming your way to live part of the time in about a month or so. I bought a house on a private 12-13 acre lake near Hermann. I know it is a bit early Wrench but it is the MOON phase changing an d that might be part of the cause you young whipper snapper. Old plug Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 WARRIOR ....Never seen that before. I think someone mentioned something about it to me though. Mine have a 8"trick worm about 14" ( not know really I just tie them do not get very fussy about the tech stuff) above a 3/4 or 1 oz bell sinker I make myself. They are not for everybody are any sort wonder rig. They can get tangled up and wrapped around fish and in general make some messes. Reason I been using them so much this year is I cannot cast. I can get right up to a dock and just drop it straight down the side. Corner or buy a lift. It will shock you how close you can get sometimes.
