Sore Thumbs Posted June 25, 2016 Posted June 25, 2016 My Axle needs to be replaced on my Skeeter 20i . Can I do this with the boat on the trailer? I have access to floor jacks and car lifts. If anyone has done this and has some words of caution or something that might pop up that a first timer might not know about please chime in. Thanks .
Nitroman Posted June 25, 2016 Posted June 25, 2016 I have done it by myself several times, easier if you have a helper but you should be able to do it without much trouble. But, be very careful to balance & support the axle ( BOTH THE OLD & NEW ) properly @ all times & get all the weight off the springs before removing bolts, nuts, etc. Spray everything down with a good amount of WD-40 ( OR A GOOD PENETRATING OIL ) a couple of times ( A DAY OR 2 IN ADVANCE) before you start the job, it will save you some time & a busted knuckle or 2. dtrs5kprs Posted June 27, 2016 Posted June 27, 2016 If you find an easy way let us know. I've heard and read a bunch of ugly stories abut trying to replace torsion axles on Ranger trailers. Maybe your Skeeter will be easier.

Been busy at work and trying not to melt in this hot sun. This heat is hard on a fat boy. I haven't forgotten you Sir.
Champ188 Posted June 27, 2016 Posted June 27, 2016 You ain't kidding about the heat being brutal on us portly folks. Donna and I have been playing afternoon golf in it. You'll sweat off 5 pounds a round.
