waterpossum Posted August 4, 2016 Posted August 4, 2016 If you can find a place to park and negotiate the walk, I would recommend some where under one of the main lake bridges this time of year, especially if day fishing . You can stay in the shade during the day with a little wind. Night fishing unless there is good wind can be a nightmare of bugs.
Members L D T Posted August 5, 2016 Members Posted August 5, 2016 I fish both the Louisiana marsh for specs, reds, flounder, etc and Lake Stockton for crappie and walleye. For crappie and walleye on Stockton you really need a boat. Hope that is in your future. Meanwhile the points mentioned are good. Good luck.

Here is a map of the three fishing docks that I know of... "Look up OPTIMIST in the dictionary - there is a picture of a fishing boat being launched"
Members reddog Posted August 5, 2016 Members Posted August 5, 2016 I have been fishing for white bass in the fall for many years at the 245 bridge area unless the water is too high. There is a gravel parking lot and a trail leading down to the water. Sliders, swimming minnows. and 1/8 oz rooster tails are the most productive lures for me. You will need a medium action spinning rod and real. The action usually starts late September early October and will continue until killing frost. CC area and High Point are back up locations. If you go to High Point you might try turning left at the T by the old church and walking down to the points (the road gets a little rough) Welcome to the Ozarks and Good Fishing to you.
