Water level above Boiling Spring?

Was wondering what the water level above Boiling Springs is like?  I did a section last year from Riddle Bridge to Boiling Springs and had good success fishing.  I have a Jet boat now, and really love to put in at Boiling Springs,  but am not familiar with the Gasconade and if a jet would make it up there this time of year?  If the water level is good about how far up could I run and is it a decent run.  I have gotten used to the boat and have been running the Meramec since i got the boat. 

If the water is two low, where would be another option to but in an fish for the day?  May run up to clear water below hwy K if it is to low.  thanks

Based on the current river conditions at Jerome, If you're an above average jet boater in a smaller boat you should be able to run up 4-5 miles above Boiling Springs with minimal difficuty.  Then the river is going to make a hard right and run along a mud bank.  At the top of the mud bank, the river makes a hard left and that's when the running will get sketchy.  If you haven't been through already, I wouldn't recommend that you try it at these water levels.

Don't think I'd try the run up from Clearwater either.  Gonna be a pretty busy weekend on the water everywhere.

Thanks for the Reply Brain.....I have a fairly big boat  "18.10" Legend with a 90hp jet.   I have been able to run pretty low on the meramec, but I'm not familiar with the Gasconade don't want to come across a surprise.  If I can run up 4-5 miles and float/fish back that would be fine.  I just didn't want to take the drive out their to find out I couldn't only run 1 mile up river "safely". 

 

What are the other popular spots folks but in boats and run that have descent water? Thanks

You don't see many boats above the 28 bridge...plenty of good public access downstream... Bell Chute, Pointers Creek, Paydown, or Rollins Ferry.

Yep, a couple of weeks ago I ran across a fellow who ripped the boot off his jet up from 28 bridge.

I've never been above Hwy 28 so I just looked at that spot you mentioned. That does look like some tricky stuff! Speaking of tricky, me and Jesse ran up above Fish Holler the other day and barely got through one spot. If that water drops a few more inches, I'm not sure if it will be possible to get above there. I had the GoPro running and have it on film, but I haven't got the video edited and ready to upload yet.

If I wanted to but in at hwy 42, is this possible? Isn't thes a private campground?

You have to be a member to put in there nowadays. I would recommend bell chutes. It's good fishing 20 miles in either direction and fairly easy running.
