After a few disappointing days of bass fishing, I ended my afternoon yesterday by going to my favorite striper spot. After 20 minutes of casting something different took the bait, it was darting every which way unlike the small striper I had caught before. When it finally surfaced and rolled I quickly knew what I had. I netted the big walleye head first and then broke my net as I flopped it between my legs in the kayak. A boater nearby had a scale and weighed it for me, "10-12!" he says. I finally broke the 10lbs mark for walleye. Definitely awesome to finally catch one this size, especially from the kayak. It ate the Jakked Baits 3/4oz Flash Jakk with a white 4.8" BPS Speed Shad.

Awesome walleye! Congrats on passing the 10 lb mark!

Congrats.  I wonder how much weight it would have added in the spring with eggs.  That's definitely a prize.  How long was it?
