196champ Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 Heading down on Thursday and staying at Newlands for the weekend. Anyone have any reports or sound advice to catch some fish, will be bringing a boat and mostly spin fishing. Is night fishing worth a shot? Thanks for any advice
rps Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 Night fishing from Newlands down is for people who know the river very well. Especially when the strongest generation is at the end of the day. Fish jerk baits in current for browns and use river rigs with circle hooks and salmon eggs paired with power bait for drift fishing rainbows. Little Cleo spoons and small shad rap baits work well as well. Enjoy. It is about the river and not the fish. Terrierman 1
196champ Posted September 7, 2016 Author Posted September 7, 2016 We come down for about a week in February and throw mainly jigs and jerk baits. Just wanted to make sure that was still a viable option
