Vinsott Posted September 19, 2016 Posted September 19, 2016 Haven't fished much lately, but it was beautiful out so I tried from about 6pm till just before dark. I spooned around Beaver Shores and caught one bluegill not much bigger then the spoon. Went to a point by the islands and caught a couple kentuckies and one smallie. They were on the ned. Boat traffic definitely slowing down. Water temp 81. Nothing was keeper size. t Lance34, Dan the fisherman, Bg193ch and 1 other 4
J-Doc Posted September 19, 2016 Posted September 19, 2016 I see you met OAF. (Over Achieving Fish) I caught him on a spoon at Beaver Shores last summer. Not much bigger than the spoon itself. Beautiful weather for sure. If it was only in the mid to low 60's, I would have been out there. That cool crisp air is AWESOME. Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. jeb Posted September 19, 2016 Posted September 19, 2016 I'm not much of a weekend fishermen, when the crowds are out, but had the opportunity to get out Sunday morning for a few hours, and the rain was mostly south, so jumped on it. On the water at 0530. It was actually a little on the cool side with just shorts and a t-shirt. But a good morning for fishing. Stayed cloudy, a nice breeze and cooling water temps at 79. Perfect! Fish were very cooperative on my milk run of brush piles and rock humps. Spoons, topwaters and drop shots accounted for most of them. A 19" walleye, 11 spots (several in the 15+ range) and one small smallmouth. Back in the garage just as it started raining, around 9:30. All in the PC/mid-lake area. Had a lot of misses on the topwater, more so than I'd normally see. Not sure why, but the action was fun. And I did catch a couple of nice ones on topwaters. jeb Posted September 21, 2016 Posted September 21, 2016 I am an early riser, but you'll never catch me out there fishing at sundown. :-) John B 08 Skeeter SL210, 225F Yamaha
