Members RyanLane Posted October 1, 2016 Members Posted October 1, 2016 Was thinking about taking the youngster out tonight or in the morning. Anybody been seeing the white bass busting the tops? Been out there the last few weekends and yet to find any busting the surface.
Members chomper Posted October 2, 2016 Members Posted October 2, 2016 We got into them today (Sat) big time ! They were South of Hartley on the east side down at the ext small cove. It's been years since I've seen surfacing action like we saw today. Unreal ! "eyes"haveit, wtr dogs, dan hufferd and 3 others 6
Kramr Posted October 2, 2016 Posted October 2, 2016 White bass are fun when they're feeding on the surface.
Members chomper Posted October 2, 2016 Members Posted October 2, 2016 Kramr...it's a sight to see when there's 100's of them. Best trick is get up wind and drift through them if you can....they spook too easy.
MOPanfisher Posted October 2, 2016 Posted October 2, 2016 Some of the most incredible fishing I have ever had was with schools of large white bass when they are attacking anything that moves. Only thing better was a school of surface busting hybrids on Truman one day. chomper and Johnsfolly 2
Members RyanLane Posted October 5, 2016 Author Members Posted October 5, 2016 Well that about sums up my luck. Had some motor issues and wasn't able to get out. Chomper looks like a helluva time. Good work there!!!
Dutch Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 I haven't seen any surface action in a long time. I hope the low water doesn't hurt the fall bite. I plan to spend the last 2 weeks of October at State Park looking for them.

Dutch Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 Fall whites aren't hiding. They are feeding. bassfisher and chomper 2
