merc1997 Bo Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 went to the lower end last night and it was certainly a hunt and peck adventure. just caught one or two here and one or two there. caught a few out directly in the hurricane and a few in areas protected from the wind. most bites came on a bit flatter terrain. the 15 to 25 ft. range still seemed to produce more, but did catch a few up in 8 to 10 ft. of water. the SpinJig did produce a few bites and they were of better quality also. we ended up with 8 keepers, and leonard had 4 in the 3 lb. range, 3 brownies and 1 kentucky. we did not catch one lmg. water temp was 76. we really did not find any area that had lots of bait. so obviously, need to do a bit more searching to figure out where the bait has migrated to. still saw a line of stuff out in the lake at 35 ft. i did search some areas to see if anything came in contact with the bottom at 35, but never did find anything. i would expect a pretty good bite coming on with the moon. time to do some snooping around during the day also. bo bobby b. and Wart 57 2

I am working at getting orders filled, and I was actually thinking of you with the wind blowing like it is. most definitely the type of day to find some up shallow some place. bo
Nitro 750 Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 Way to stay after them, thanks for the report.

Went back to work full time Monday --- at least until the end of the year and perhaps beyond that, if they decide to make the position permanent. The job is a blessing but I already miss the freedom to pick and choose my days to go fishing. What makes it worse is there's a 10-acre lake right outside the window of our offices and it was nearly white-capping yesterday. If the job ends Dec. 31 as expected, I'll proceed with my plans to start an instructional guide business next spring. 96 CHAMP, 176champion, big c and 6 others 9

Larry Eby Posted October 6, 2016 Posted October 6, 2016 Champ. Do they still require you to go to Little Rock for your captains license testing? If this question is out of date, it's because my mind hasn't been updated since the 70's for that topic.
