Dan the fisherman Posted October 28, 2016 Posted October 28, 2016 I've been waiting to post the striper bite cuz I wasn't sure if the first day was a fluke. It's not !!! I've gotten into them all 3 days. I've caught 2 each day. 4 of the 6 striper have been caught on top water. Only 2 on down lines. I can't say where I got them sense the spot was given to me by another fisher man. But all I will say is the they're in the clear end of the lake. I'm not sure big groups of fish have made it to pc yet. Ive tried in and around PC for a few days last week with nothing. Well see what the next couple of weeks bring to the striper bite. Good luck out there fellas. Quillback, timinmo, Ron Burgundy and 10 others 13
Stump bumper Posted October 28, 2016 Posted October 28, 2016 Nice fish, what was the best weight so far?
Dan the fisherman Posted October 28, 2016 Author Posted October 28, 2016 I guessed it at 17-18 pounds it hit a spook at 430 pm. I was totally shocked on that deal. Carl W 1
Members Alumacraft190 Posted October 28, 2016 Members Posted October 28, 2016 Nice fish, thanks for the report Dan! Looks like I need to make a trip to cabelas for some topwater plugs before coming next week.
Dan the fisherman Posted October 28, 2016 Author Posted October 28, 2016 Go to hook line sinker. I get 90% of everything there. They have good stuff
Dan the fisherman Posted October 28, 2016 Author Posted October 28, 2016 Also make sure u have some heavy braid tied on. Never know if it's a 10 or a 40 pounder. I've been using 30 pound braid and haven't lost a fish yet. Carl W 1
RyanG Posted October 28, 2016 Posted October 28, 2016 Glad to see you on them Dan! Looking forward to more pics of those beasts! Dan the fisherman 1
Quillback Posted October 28, 2016 Posted October 28, 2016 Way to go Dan, very nice fish. I'll tell my neighbor the striper fisherman that they look to be biting. Dan the fisherman 1
Dan the fisherman Posted October 28, 2016 Author Posted October 28, 2016 Got on them again this morning. They're definitely on the move. Totally different spot from yesterday. Hit them with a spook. I had 9 blow ups, out of those hooked up 7 and out of those I landed 5. Hooked up to a real nice one. 22.67 pounder. The rest were under 15 pounds. Here's the big one of the day. Members Alumacraft190 Posted October 28, 2016 Members Posted October 28, 2016 Wow thanks Dan, I've gone from being concerned the timing was going to be bad to counting down the minutes again since you posted your reports. Come on Thursday! Dan- would you guess starting out at PC and moving north toward RB a week from today to be a good general strategy?
