merc1997 Bo Posted November 1, 2016 Posted November 1, 2016 i was wondering when someone was going to point out that fact. a lot of very capable bassers were fishing that event. bo Champ188 1
Hammer time Posted November 1, 2016 Posted November 1, 2016 That's one day, times 3 that's what 44 lbs?
Sprint21fter Posted November 1, 2016 Author Posted November 1, 2016 Jack Emmit tourney took 17 lbs I think last Saturday then fell off. Just never know this time of year. I fished as a Co-Angler in the open Kevin Short won, he managed 18lbs for 2 days and then busted the biggest bag of the tournament at just under 16lbs. I know it will take more weight than that but it will be an up and down shuffle of weights.

No mention of rain any of those days by the NWS or The Weather Channel. Front blows thru Wednesday night, then mostly sunny skies and light winds the next 3 days. May be about as tough as it gets. Finesse jig and spoon on docks could be strong. Gonna be 200 boats (one pro, one co-angler in each boat) the first two days. The field is cut to 10 boats for Saturday's final round. I'll say 40 pounds. Right on Champ, I figured 42 plus but just over 40. As tuff as fishing is someone is always on em! Champ188 1
Sprint21fter Posted November 6, 2016 Author Posted November 6, 2016 There was a lot of shoal jumping in the James and Kings river
Champ188 Posted November 6, 2016 Posted November 6, 2016 Can't believe that dang ol' Georgia bank beater won. In fact, I think most of the top finishers were fishing shallow. Go figure. magicwormman and big c 2
Sprint21fter Posted November 6, 2016 Author Posted November 6, 2016 Anybody that has any kind of fish savy can win every tournament shallow, you have to cover lots of water but find the right kind of water and duplicate it, hence "find a pattern" John Cox has made a lot of money that last few years winning in 5 ft or less of water. Looking at on water cameras there was a mixture of anglers fishing shallow and deep. Fishing your strengths is what a lot of the pros do. Our lake can prepare you for anything except grass fishing. magicwormman, Champ188, Hammer time and 1 other 4
merc1997 Bo Posted November 7, 2016 Posted November 7, 2016 with the entire lake being in the limbo it is, moving water or at least being able to get shallow enough to get away from the bubbling areas of the lake was a good move. those bass that are there have a better O2 level and will be more active. I can tell you that from the next to nothing bites lately and how slow you have to fish, the O2 level is not too good in a lot of areas. bo Hammer time and Champ188 2
Hammer time Posted November 7, 2016 Posted November 7, 2016 River rats always are players in most tournaments!
Longball22 Posted November 7, 2016 Posted November 7, 2016 Thought this was the best "synopsis" of what the top 10 were doing there: https://www.flwfishing.com/news/2016-11-05-top-10-baits-from-table-rock-lake Nothing too crazy in there, but I was drawn into 4th place Greg Bohannan's crankbait in the picture: Skirmish Baits A10 crankbait. So I did the homework: http://www.skirmishbaits.com/product-category/medium-diving-crankbaits/a10-wide-wobbling-crankbait/ http://www.scout.com/outdoors/wired2fish/story/1527028-early-season-crankbait-fishing-tips As if you didn't need another reason to go online and buy more Wiggle Wart imitators...... This company actually has some good looking baits, in some appealing colors.
