My daughter and I fished the Good ol Boys tournament Saturday. We started up Sonscreek at the last channel swing before the 39 bridge. Water was 41. Started working our way towards the lake staying with the channel. Finaly found a stretch with some fish. We caught most of them on jerkbait and jig but ww and A-rig put a few in the boat also. We culled 8 times ( just ounces at a time) with I don't know how many shorts but a lot. We spent probably 5 hours going back forth about a 100 yard area. They just kept biting every pass so we stayed with them til we ran out of time. Our big fish ( I think lol ) was 3.74 and had 13.37 for a total. We had great day.

I think  fishing with your kid makes it rewarding

I have fished dang near exclusively with my son Shawn for 22 years  when he was 5 we loaded the wall with trophys for him

our pond  I think he caught every fish in it 7 times over

still today he has a great passion for the outdoors

Looking back while other teams surpassed us    I would never trade this  for anything

this was a great thing between me and him

keep up the great work sir

Thank you I believe that I have truly been blessed with a couple of great kids that actually enjoy my hobby with me. I too started taking them both right around the age of five. Some great memories we made, some of them at the time were hard to imagine that we would be looking back and laughing but it sure is funny now. I am right there with you I wouldn't trade one moment. Several of the guys I fish with enjoy this same blessing, privilege, etc. I also have a couple of close friends that have lost this great God given privilege within the last two years. Each one was a young man under the age of twenty. Just enjoy every minute.

Great report, Chomper.  You are right getting to spend that time with your kids is what it's all about.  I have been fishing with my father since I was 4 or 5 and wouldn't trade that lifetime of memories for anything.  Thanks again for the good detailed report.
