WeekendWarrior Posted February 12, 2017 Posted February 12, 2017 Just a heads up that I was up in StL and went to BassPro for their sale they had on the flash mob jr. For $9.97, well I didn't notice but all the barrel swivels have changed to a cheap chrome version of swivel, taking mine back next time in StL. Just a heads up for those who use them
Ketchup Posted February 12, 2017 Posted February 12, 2017 Change them out. TinBoats BassClub. An aluminum only bass club. If interested in info send me a PM.
fishinwrench Posted February 13, 2017 Posted February 13, 2017 Ya know, I'm not so sure that ball bearing swievels on spinner blades is necessary. A wet barrel swievel spins just as easily as a ball bearing swievel, plus they are lighter. Someone mentioned once that barrel swivels make a noise that might help get you bit in dirty water. Could be. dtrs5kprs 1

Could be. Yep. I resemble that part, and think I've seen it hold up. Jim Rogers worked one of our old time club members over with a spinnerbait on Grand. End of the day he showed Otis the crane swivels, told him they squeaked. That was the only difference. Otis didn't look back. When I met him 15 years or so later he was still having all his spinnerbaits made with crane swivels. Same reasoning. One of the better blade fishermen, and big fish sticks, I've ever met. They definitely have a different sound and vibration.
