bjovan Posted June 6, 2017 Posted June 6, 2017 Jun 2 and 3 Got to the lake at 8:30 last Friday and was amazed at all the floating debris around the 8 mm ran up lake a little hitting main lake points and a couple big secondary points with moving baits sq bill, bladed jig and a topwater not much love for me early on those. Switched to the big worm and a jig on bluff end points finally started to pick some fish up got a little bumpy after 1pm made it challenging, ended friday with two good flurries on two bluff end points all on the big worm fish were in 8-12' caught 5 in a row at one point. Ended the day day catching 20 but only 4 keepers all on main lake bluff end stuff. Sat morning heavy fog kept me in a cove till I could see better. Always amazed hearing boats run in the soup, crazy that guys rely on GPS to navigate in heavy fog. Hit 3 points that had fish on them the evening before they were still there and biting! had 6 keeps all 3-3.5 lbs by 10 am off the water and on the trailer at 11am, big worm did all the damage bluff end stuff was my deal. Was getting bumpy around 10:30. Have a great summer LOZ see ya late September. WeekendWarrior 1

Doesn't seem possible but I just tested my temp guages again in the driveway and they are dead-on accurate with the air temp right now. That's crazy... I was showing 69-71 all of Memorial Day weekend but maybe my temp gauges were way off... 15 degrees in 1 week seems like a lot but I guess it's possible. They were biting good in that 69-71 degree range fishinwrench, snagged in outlet 3, conorsixtakc and 3 others 6

Good deep stuff and shallow stuff. The bass, crappie, and catfish are pretty thick in there. That's why my father-in-law almost never goes outside of it. I venture out more cause I want to expand my spots and patterns but I usually end up coming back at some point and catching more or bigger fish than I do elsewhere. WeekendWarrior and nomolites 2
Ed Franko Posted June 7, 2017 Author Posted June 7, 2017 Nice fish guys .... Had a great day on the lake today.. We caught a bunch of keepers on a crankbait and then switched to a shaker head after the bite slowed a bit. our best five would of gone around 22 pounds. The lake is stable and the water is stained . The fish are hanging around main lake points and eager to bite.. I understand they are going to slow the water flow up quite a bit. No current no fish it seems . MOsmallies 1
Ed Franko Posted June 8, 2017 Author Posted June 8, 2017 Kicking bass the past few days... Catching lots of keepers and a few nice kickers in the mix. Water temp is in the low 80s... The have slowed the water discharge ... The lake is clearing up DANG IT.. The fish are relating to points and are very eager to bit a jig crankbait or just about anything you get down there .. Fish the area with your electronics befor you fish them with a lure. MOsmallies, Yakalong and nomolites 3
Ed Franko Posted June 17, 2017 Author Posted June 17, 2017 Took a group od writers out last evening for a fishing trip. They had zero experience however was able to catch them pretty good. The fish are eager to bite a shaker head or a drop shot once you find them on your electronics. Once you do you can catch them and once you catch a few then most of the time the school will fire up and then it is on. the water temp is in the 80s the lake is clearing up the lake level is 659.2 They are generating water just about daily and the fishing is good. Rude people warning........ this year has been the worst for rude thoughtless people.. It is not uncommon to have a boat of any size buzz you when the whole lake is empty.. I have had fisherman pull in front of me and start fishing... There is a person that lives down the lake from me in another cove come and make surf waves behind my dock for endless hours. He had a bass boat on his life too.Oh well I don't own the lake but dang I hate to pay for the repairs on my dock. I guess you just can't fix stupid. End of Rant can I get a amen. evilcatfish and slothman 2

Tonight, I had a cove to myself with two pwc's on the far side with the drivers stopping in for a swim. No big deal. They were quite far from me. When they decided to leave, I was fishing the main lake point and one of them literally drove over my line. I was kinda taken back by their rudeness. They had a few hundred yards that they could have driven, but instead decided to just take the most direct route to their future destination which put them within casting distance (obviously, because one of them drove over my line). 😡😤😡😤😡 Also, if you go out, make sure to have a jig tied on. The worm bite (my bread and butter) isn't really hitting for me lately. They weren't quite as shallow for me as they have been, but they were loving the jig. I had had another first today too. My heavy action flipping stick broke right above the first eye closest toe the reel. It happened while I was making my first cast with a football jig. I've heard of that happening to other people, but never experienced it myself before. That was a brand new rod too. I just bought it in March. I wonder if Bass Pro Shops will replace it? I'm going to find out.
