Members audiochem Posted February 22, 2017 Author Members Posted February 22, 2017 I've made concerted effort to target walleye and never seem to have any luck. Seems like I can only catch them on a fluke. There's a pattern...we just have to figure it out. Unfortunately, the pattern changes all year long. Next time I go, I plan on trolling flats with crank baits. PS - The one I caught on the a-rig was a male.

I threw a fluke last year at post spawn walleye, I got bit a lot, but missed several hook ups, I need to rig the hook different. I thought it would be an alternative to the jerk bait. Some times I think the rattle is just to different for them. I know a spoon works well with no rattle, I have tried the count down too, it should be great in the back of those coves. mmirg 1
Members audiochem Posted February 22, 2017 Author Members Posted February 22, 2017 LOL...actually, I meant 'fluke' as in a whim or dumb luck. But, I'll certainly take your advice. I'm willing to try anything. dan hufferd 1

I have had a bunch of help from OAF friends, but I seem to be in the wrong place at the wrong time, doing the wrong thing. I guess that's why they call it fishing. I am learning some things for sure.
