mixermarkb Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 Hey Guys- Fishing is good. Monday afternoon I got a late start, and stayed close to Theodosia. 6 solid LMB keepers in about 3 hours of fishing. Water had a good stain to it, and fish were shallow in windblown pockets. Spinnerbaits and an Optima line thru swimbait was the deal. Today I fished 8am to 6:30pm, and ran down the lake targeting smallmouth. Had over 50 bass in the boat, with Ned and Keitech being the most popular, and the biggest fish of the day, a nearly 19" smallie, coming on a jerkbait when the wind came up this afternoon. Had 10 keepers, counting a few 13" to 16" really fat spotted bass, and a whole lot of 14.5" smallies. Flat pea and pea/ledge mix, both in the backs of pockets and main lake. Water temps 59-62, stained in the backs of major creek arms and clear everywhere else. Lots of floaters, including a couple big ones in the main lake, so be careful! dtrs5kprs Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 Nice. The old Will-E-Go Flat. Had one, but started using a Golden Rule when I started fishing derbies in the 90's. Quillback 1

mixermarkb Posted April 5, 2017 Author Posted April 5, 2017 It was a lot of fun. I barely made it into STL ahead of the storms, but those last several quality fish on the jerkbait made it hard to leave! dtrs5kprs 1
mixermarkb Posted April 6, 2017 Author Posted April 6, 2017 Any storm damage around? I was watching it in the rear view the whole way home. It looked ugly, and too close for my comfort!
