Krazo Posted April 14, 2017 Posted April 14, 2017 Not to get off topic but what is the preferred bait on this style of rig? Worms? Shad? Minnows? Leeches? Is it safe to assume everyone is using live bait?

RPS is the walleye dude, read everything that he has taken the time to share here. You will get a lot of info at one time instead of piece meal ideas from all of us. I am very thankful for his input. Good luck out there, post what you catch, but never post your location if you can help it, share those things in PM's There seems to be many walleye in the lake, they will hit about anything, until the water gets to about 50 degrees, then it is good to have a good understanding of habitat and some good friends to feed you helpful tips so you can stay on them.

Sometimes (not often enough) Berkley Gulp or other flavored soft plastics will work. Most who fish minnows do so on jigs.
Targa98 Posted April 14, 2017 Author Posted April 14, 2017 Do you guys all prefer the slow death hooks or just the regular hooks that come with spinning rigs themselves? If so do you guys cut off the old ones and put new ones on or do you just by the whole rig itself. How much difference do you all noticed. Ive never used the actuall slow death rigs or hooks.
Members Kickerrich Posted April 14, 2017 Members Posted April 14, 2017 You can get slow death rigs at any of the big box outfitters that's what I do , one thing I add is a barrel swivel make sure its a good one there is a lot of spinning of the hook with slow death and you will get line twist with out the added swivel
