Members kelbrand Posted May 14, 2017 Members Posted May 14, 2017 Just curious how the water level is and what Bolivar Landing looks like currently. Is there alot of debris still, etc.? Thanks!
MOPanfisher Posted May 14, 2017 Posted May 14, 2017 Right niw the lake is 861.2 and dropping. Normally would be at 841this time of year, not sure how much drift is out there but would expect there is a fair amount. Stained water has made it all the way to the dam, and releasing 3500 CFS. Bolivar ramp was in good shape the last time I saw it but haven't seen it since shortly after the lake level peaked.
Ranger520vx Posted May 14, 2017 Posted May 14, 2017 Was a lot of big stuff out there a week ago kind of like running an obstacle course. But that was last Sunday and fishing sucked so bad haven't been out since then.
PAT92B Posted May 14, 2017 Posted May 14, 2017 I fished pomme Saturday caught 3 bass fishing around the campgrounds near the dam all on creature baits. 1 around 4lbs the other 2 less then a lb. fished all day very hard to fish most places if your flipping the edges of the brush your in 20' of water the only places you can really get to the bank is around the campgrounds because the brush on the banks is a lot thinner in the campground. The water around the dam was lightly stained around 2' visibility ran to around Nemo bridge I didn't see a change in the water clarity still slightly stained no debris in that area. I would recommend waiting for the lake to drop at least 10' before bass fishing.
Members kelbrand Posted May 15, 2017 Members Posted May 15, 2017 Checked out bolivar landing yesterday. Looked like it was a good place to swim. That's about it.
Gumboot Posted May 24, 2017 Posted May 24, 2017 MOPAN Barring any major rain events, how long you think we'll keep releasing 3500? Is there anyplace to access real time outflow information? I have the 3 day lakes forecast, and the corp daily report, but was looking for something more in line with the usgs water data info. Would be neat if outflow was one of parameters available on the usgs report. Thanks
MOPanfisher Posted May 24, 2017 Posted May 24, 2017 https://waterdata.usgs.gov/mo/nwis/uv/?site_no=06921350&PARAmeter_cd=00065,63160,00060 It is, here is the USGS site we use, updates every 15 minutes I belive. This gauge is located about a quarter mile below the dam. Not sure exactly how long it will run 3500, probably mid June before normal-ish. I could see us dropping to be 2800 or less to slowly step it down as we get closer to normal. Gumboot 1
