Members Andrew McChristian Posted May 17, 2017 Author Members Posted May 17, 2017 Never fished or trapped Beaver. I've used bacon for crawfish traps for years. Well I used to, don't do it anymore. Works everywhere else not sure why it wouldn't work there. I'd spread em out shallow to deep and take note of the catch rate. Good luck and post up your catch and pictures. Thankyou friend! I will for sure do that
snagged in outlet 3 Posted May 17, 2017 Posted May 17, 2017 When I was a youngster we would trap them all the time in the summer. We used standup nets in small ponds. Bring them home and put em in a tub of fresh water to flush them out. Good eatin and fun when the fish weren't bitin.
Stump bumper Posted May 18, 2017 Posted May 18, 2017 I have always had better luck putting a trap in the creek by my house, but haven't tried in few years. Anyway my "secret" spot was near the bridge on 24th street near Hwy62. There is a walking trail there that makes easy excess to the creek. Andrew McChristian 1
Carl W Posted May 18, 2017 Posted May 18, 2017 I have dived on Beaver a few times. LOL. Anyhow in a month or so the crawfish will be anywhere there is rocks. 5" to 50' We like catching them at bottom then swimming up ten feet of so above my buddies and watching Smallies come out of nowhere to nail the craws. The lateral lines and eye sight are amazing. Visibility at 15-20ft, and the bass show up so fast when there was nothing around. Would you carry the crawfish up and release them? And then watch the small mouth come and get them?

BFTMASTER Posted May 18, 2017 Posted May 18, 2017 Yes. I am sorry that was unclear. That lake has crawfish everywhere there is rocks. Super fun though
MoCarp Posted May 18, 2017 Posted May 18, 2017 Fish heads work best, set in slabby rock areas with cobble the size of soft balls transition areas water being high i'd look at 7-12 feet later in the summer 10-15 in day time 5 foot at night... MONKEYS? what monkeys?
