Members flyfisher710 Posted June 1, 2017 Members Posted June 1, 2017 How well do these 20ft jon boats row? Am I limited to using them on tailwaters or has anyone had any experience with using them on rivers or any smaller lakes to chase white bass, largemouth, spoonbill etc.
Ham Posted June 1, 2017 Posted June 1, 2017 Mine doesn't do well with one paddle, but two oars is a workable set up. Jdecoudres 1 Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
Gavin Posted June 1, 2017 Posted June 1, 2017 The Supremes & Shawnee style boats are too wide to handle well with a paddle, but can be controlled with oars. You would need a much narrower boat if you want to use a paddle or a pole. Greasy B 1
Greasy B Posted June 1, 2017 Posted June 1, 2017 Both boats can be ordered with factory installed oars. The supreme boats don't have much rocker or have no rocker at all. The Shawnee has a great deal of rocker, I've never rowed one but I'd bet you could spin it on a dime. o2bnMO 1 His father touches the Claw in spite of Kevin's warnings and breaks two legs just as a thunderstorm tears the house apart. mosouthpaw Posted June 9, 2017 Posted June 9, 2017 You can row em but they are slow and dogish. Turning is slow sluggish but just back rowing to slow a drift it they do fine. If you're used to a drift boat, you'll be disappointed. I run a series 2000 supreme with oars and that's my take. Ham 1
